5/31/2020 - 3:30pm
The lift has been completed; Internet service is now operational.
5/31/2020 - 6 am
The tower lift is a go for today. Our Internet outage began about an hour ago. We will monitor progress closely.
5/30/2020 - 10 am
Further update: we have been told that the engineering team may still try to accomplish the lift today. At this point, it is very uncertain if they'll be able to complete it. We are in wait & see mode...
5/30/2020 - 8:15am
Update: the lift is now NOT happening today. The engineers need to address some structural concerns and plan to try again tomorrow, Sunday, May 31st. This information has been relayed to us by our contact at the Village of Maine.
5/30/2020 - 7am
The tower lift is underway! Just a reminder, we don't know how long our equipment will be without power; we're hoping that everything will proceed smoothly and without incident, so that our Internet outage will be as short as possible. Stay tuned...
5/29/2020 - 9 am
The construction crew in charge of the Brokaw water tower project has once again postponed the lift due to wind conditions. The current plan is to start work very early tomorrow morning, Saturday, May 30th, depending on weather. If the lift does not happen tomorrow, the next available date for it would be Monday, June 1st. We will continue to post updates here, as we receive them.
5/28/2020 - 2 pm
The tower lift for today is cancelled due to weather. It has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Friday May 29th; the tower crew will re-evaluate at 6 am. They will be watching the weather closely, as the forecast calls for higher winds, which may mean another postponement. We will update this page as soon as we have new information.
5/28/2020 - 8:30 am
The most current information we have is that the tower crew still plans to proceed with the lift today. That may mean waiting until this morning's rain abates. Unfortunately, we do not have moment by moment information, and must simply watch & wait. As always, if we receive new information, we will post it here.
5/26/2020 - TOWER LIFT SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, MAY 28, 2020
This just in from our contact with the Village of Maine: the tower lift is scheduled for Thursday, May 28th, depending on weather conditions. If weather is not favorable on that day, it could possibly be delayed a day or so. Please plan for an outage as soon as Thursday, May 28th. We will post additional information if/when we receive it.
5/20/2020 - Letter sent to affected customers:
IMPORTANT
NOTICE REGARDING YOUR INTERNET SERVICE
You are
receiving this notice because your Internet service will be affected by
construction at the Brokaw Water Tower.
The Village
of Maine has undertaken a project to raise the height of the Brokaw water
tower. This is a major engineering project that involves severing the stem of
the water tower, moving the "ball” or tank to the side, then attaching a new
section of stem before replacing the tank. Due to the nature of this work,
power will be interrupted and our equipment will be moved out of alignment,
making it impossible for us to deliver service during this project. You can
expect your Internet service to be interrupted one day, for approximately 12
hours, sometime in the next 1-2 weeks.
We have not
yet been given an exact date for this work as it requires ideal weather
conditions. We have worked extensively with the Village of Maine & their
engineering firm to prepare in every way possible for this project, and have completed
all preparatory work needed to bring service back up as soon as we are able.
The date for the tower lift will ultimately be selected by the engineers
responsible, who will give us as much notice as possible.
This letter
serves as our first notice to you; all future updates will be posted on our
website, at www.airnetisp.com – choose
the Water Tower menu item. As soon as we know the date that this work
will be performed, we will post the information there. We will do our very best
to get you as much advance notice as possible, so that you can plan accordingly
for work and school commitments.
We ask you
to bear in mind that this project is not within our control; we have done
everything possible to prepare for it, and will be standing by, ready to
restore service just as soon as we are allowed.
Sincerely,
Network
Professionals, Inc.
